Been going through tons of iPhone photos I’ve taken over the years. I realize I forgot to share this snap I took a couple months ago at a show of one of my favorite artists. I’m trying to dig up any that I took when Angel Olsen played to a few folks in a tiny yoga studio in West Philly in 2012.
Phenominal new track and video off her upcoming album My Woman. Watch her dance around a roller rink with serious attitude. Pre-order the deluxe album now.
Good god, the power this woman projects is unbelievable. Wow.

Beautifully shot, but the vaseline on the face just plain confused me. Meh, love me all Angel Olsen. Got one of the new deluxe bonus track up next today.
“In the music industry, it’s pretty easy to make an album just because you want to keep going, like, ‘This is the formula.’ But the formula is your life. You have to live your life and you have to live it well—that’s the formula.”
“I’ve made up my mind,” “I don’t know anything,” “But I love you,” goes the refrain from the first single from one of my favorite artist’s upcoming album. Having heard this song sung in person on stage a couple months ago was a treat then, but so happy to hear the ‘final cut’ recorded.
This is from the forthcoming album Burn Your Fire For No Witness LP is available from Jagjaguwar Records on Febuary 18th.
Amazingly, there hasn’t yet been a Bathetic Records release that’s been reviewed by Pitchfork, which is quite astounding given the incredible catalog that Jon Hency’s built up from his Asheville homebase. This is the record that’ll change things, though. And change things good. We’re looking at a #BNM release here.
Stunning visuals by Toshadeva Palani, and Half Way Home LP is out today (I ordered my copy on vinyl this morning, don’t sleep on this!).
